We spend so much energy designing our homes but rarely stop to think about how they shape us.

Grounded is the debut book from Shreya Lahkar, co-founder of Taro's House and Lowlight. Part essay, part intimate reflection, it takes readers beyond the curated images and considered interiors, and into the philosophies that sit behind them.

Who this book is for:

Anyone who has ever felt more like themselves at home than anywhere else. Readers drawn to slow living, intentional interiors, and the idea that the spaces we inhabit reflect who we truly are.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Shreya Lahkar is a London-based creative and published author with a background in Sociology. Together with her partner Marco, she co-founded Taro's House - a project born from a shared love of coffee, interiors, and slow living. Her work explores the relationship between domestic space and identity, and how the everyday rituals of home can become a form of self-knowledge.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

"Ever since I started diving into the world of interior design, I have wanted to explore the relationship of the domestic space with the people who inhabit it, to consider it as another character in a book rather than the backdrop. The way I see it, our homes are often where our identity is formed, nurtured, and reflected back to us. It’s both a mirror and a canvas. And the more we pay attention to how we live inside our homes, the more we begin to understand who we really are."
